Of all the native sedges, this wetland one has perhaps the most crossover appeal for landscapes. Typically found in boggy woods, wetlands, swamps and shallow ponds, tussock sedge can be grown in almost any garden conditions except very dry. Unfazed by neglect, needs very little care, yet adds grace and vertical elegance to that knee-high stratum in the garden. Leafs out and bloom early, but the deep green fountain of leaves lasts well through the entire season.
